FAQs

Q:

Homeschooler Link is an inclusive co-op. What does this mean?

A:

We welcome all homeschool families to Homeschooler Link with open arms. We want you to feel comfortable and safe at our co-op. We do require that all of our families treat each other and our host Church with respect.

Classes may not include teaching of religious beliefs contrary to the Church's Christian faith.  If a class does include any religious content it will be listed in the class description.

Q:

What Fees will I be Charged?

A:

Homeschooler Link charges a $25 membership fee per year. This gives you access to our private Facebook group and our website where all of our field trips, classes, parties, etc will be posted.

If you decide to take co-op classes, each family will pay a $25 per semester fee to cover our rental of the building.  This fee will go directly to the Church. Then, each class is approximately $20.  Some classes will have an additional supplies fee or book fee if the teacher is providing extra materials for the students like art or science experiments.  Our teachers are mostly volunteer moms who have a passion for teaching and helping.  We may have a couple of teachers that do not have children in the co-op and they will charge a slightly higher fee for their classes to bring us specialty classes like choir or band.

Q:

Where and when are your classes held?

A:

Our classes are located in OFallon Missouri.  We hold classes every Thursday during the school year from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Families may choose the amount of time that they will be attending class, from one hour to all day.

Q:

Do I have to stay or can I drop my child off?

A:

We do require parents to stay and help if your child is 14 or younger. If your child is 14 and in 9th grade or higher,  you can request that they be allowed to attend classes without a parent staying by emailing the board. This will be approved on a case by case basis and we ask that you only use this option if you truly cannot stay.

If your request is approved, your family will still have to do a helper job, as each family is required to help the co-op run by doing 1 job for every hour your family is enrolled for up to 3 hours.

Q:

Do I have to teach to attend co-op classes?

A:

No.  We do encourage you to teach if you feel drawn to it, or be an assistant or helper in a class as we need these positions filled in order to have our classes. But we will also have other jobs available, like set up and clean up.

Q:

Do you have a nursery?

A:

We do provide a tot room/nursery free of charge for anyone who is helping or teaching in a class, and has older children as well. We do ask that if you are not teaching, and have a little one in the nursery that you choose this as your helper job for at least 2 of the 3 hours if you attend all day.

Q:

What kind of security measures do you have in place during class?

A:

We perform background checks on every adult that helps or teaches in a classroom.  We also require at least 2 adults in a classroom.

Each family will be required to sign in at the front desk when they arrive and sign out if they leave before the last class, so that we know which adults and children are in the building. Our facility has mag locks on all the doors, and no one is able to enter unless let into the building.
